Installation Requirements

VS Code Version

You must be running at least VS Code version 1.93.1 or newer. If you're using an older version, the BaseRock extension may not work.

To begin:

Python 3.8+

BaseRock AI supports Python 3.8+ for development. This step assumes that you have Python installed on your machine. You can download the latest version from the official Python website. If you’re using an older version, please update it or contact support@baserock.ai for assistance. If you don’t have an existing Python project but still want to try BaseRock, follow our hands-on lab here to set up an environment from scratch.

Plugin Installation

Step 1:

In the IntelliJ IDEA menu choose Settings

Note: The IntelliJ IDEA menu is on the left of File menu tab.

Step 2:

Go to Plugins > Marketplace tab. Search for "BaseRock" and click Install.

Tip: Search from the Plugin/Marketplace tab located to the left of the Plugin/Installed.

Step 3:

Click on Restart IDE for the changes to take effect

Step 4:

Open up your Java file. Find
the BaseRock logo in the gutter of your IDE
